摘要
The publication provides (Barrera-Fernández 2016) a rigorous analysis of great scientific interest on the paradigm shift in the protection of residential heritage that takes place during the twentieth century towards its recognition as a resource for tourist and economic development.For this purpose, the author uses the case of Plymouth (UK). Located in South West England, which is the main destination for national tourism, it is the largest city on the south coast of the country and the second largest in the entire region. Currently, it is the economical and commercial centre of the county of Devon and the neighbouring region of Cornwall. Despite the incipient coastal tourism that characterised this area at the end of the nineteenth century, it has historically assumed a secondary role compared to the main attractions of this region.
