摘要
In disciplines that overlap in their interest in urbanization, settler colonialism and racial capitalism, there is a sense that we need new narrations of space, place, and time. In my response to Deb Cowen’s 2019 Urban Geography Plenary at the Annual Meeting of the American Association of Geographers, I engage with the method that Cowen has so thoroughly executed and situate it in a broader trend emerging in analyses of racial capitalism and settler colonialism. I argue Cowen’s paper can be situated in a body of scholarship that seeks to make an analytical move that we might think of as the annihilation of time by space.
